How do I go about booking a charter?
Do contact us to check for boat availability. We will then send you a charter form to complete. Upon receiving the completed form and a 50% deposit (payment by cash or cheque), we will confirm your reservations. Please confirm bookings at least 5 working days before your intended charter.

Do you accept credit card bookings?
At present, no. Sorry.

Can I change the date of charter or cancel my reservations?
We will try out best to accommodate changes to bookings, subject to availability. Please note that there will be no refunds for deposits in cases where changes or cancellations are made less than 5 days before charter date.

I notice that the carrying capacity of the boats is 12. Can I bring along 3 well-behaved kids in the place of 2 obnoxious adults?
Alas, no. In line with guidelines from the authorities, the maximum number of guests that each vessel may carry is 12, regardless of age. This includes infants and children.

While on the topic, for safety reasons --- theirs, not yours --- we request that no pets be brought on board.

What if it rains on my parade?
Charters will commence on rainy days. If there are rain showers in the middle of a charter, you and your guests may retreat to the comfortable cabin stocked with entertainment options.

What if the chartered boat breaks down?

I have a power-boating license. Can I charter a boat without crew?
We do not offer bareboat charters at present.

Safety
The yacht’s skipper is responsible for the security of the vessel and we seek your understanding and co-operation in complying with his instructions. We also ask that a form of identification be brought along by all passengers, just in case the vessel is stopped and inspected by the Singapore Marine Patrol.
While the water surface may appear calm, there may be strong currents beneath. Passengers who decide to swim do so at their own risk.

What happens if we need assistance during the charter?
In line with safety regulations, each boat is equipped with a VHF receiver for the skipper to communicate with other vessels in the vicinity.

There is reception for mobile phones at the marinas. While cruising, reception can be weak, depending on the position of the vessel. A list of emergency contact numbers is found on the boats.

Wheelchair Access
We regret that there is no access for wheelchairs.

Can I still enjoy the trip if I am prone to motion sickness?
You may encounter choppy waters along some routes. A cruise along the Johor-Singapore Straits is recommended for guests new to seafaring trips. If you are prone to motion sickness and will like to minimize discomfort during the trip, please consult your doctor or a pharmacist beforehand for suitable medication such as Stugeron (to be taken prior to the cruise). From experience, spending their time up above deck instead of hanging in the cabins tend to work wonders for our guests with motion sickness.

Is it all right to smoke on board?
Please note that smoking in the air-conditioned cabins and indoor lounge area is not allowed.

Shoes
Please note that guests will be required to remove their footwear before entering the carpeted cabin area. For comfort and a good grip on deck, consider sports sandals, sneakers or going barefoot. High-heeled shoes are highly discouraged.

What are some things to bring along on the trip?
Our boats are equipped and stocked with amenities that are geared to making your time onboard a comfortable one, but you might want to bring along the following: sunblock, camera chargers, etc.

Entertainment
If your musical tastes veer towards Old School rock, bossa nova and love ballads, we think you might be happy with our CD collection onboard. If not, please do bring along your favourite music and DVDs (Region 3).

So I was thinking of planning something special...
Great! We are always excited to be privy on a Happy Secret. Anniversaries, proposals, surprise parties, hens’ nights, stag nights, we could go on. Do drop us a line to plot discuss further.

Ok, let’s address the elephant in the room, but what is up with the company name?
In short, we like to think that it is straightforward, a bit off kilter --- and with tongue firmly in cheek. But hey, it’s not a name you’ll soon forget --- and that works fine by us. (For the long story, ask Kathy if you do meet her.)
